Board of Directors

Our volunteer Board of Directors is composed of individuals with diverse interests in coastal and ocean information sharing and who are located across Atlantic Canada. The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance of the organization.

Steering Committee

Our volunteer Steering Committee is composed of individuals who represent the interests of different sectors across Atlantic Canada. The Steering Committee provides strategic direction to the COINAtlantic staff and assists in identifying sources of funding for COINAtlantic initiatives.

Working Groups

COINAtlantic establishes volunteer Working Groups, as needed, to support the work of the Secretariat and the ocean and coastal needs of our partners. Most recently a Geomatics Working Group was created to support the development of the COINAtlantic Geospatial Tools and provide expertise on data management best practices.

Get Involved

We network across all sectors working in coastal and ocean spaces to help realize the full impacts and benefits of sharing open ocean sciences. We facilitate conversations between experts of spatial information, science, management, and conservation, to deliver tools, skills, and resources that build capacity for open and FAIR data and information sharing, and the protection and wise use of our coasts and oceans.
