Sustainable Ocean Conference 2021

The Sustainable Ocean Conference will be occurring online 23-25 September, 2021.

The Sustainable Ocean Conference is a free public event that brings together a wide audience with the goal to highlight current marine research and to address a range of issues affecting our oceans.

This year's theme, "Seeing Beyond the Shoreline", aims to foster a strong connection across all sectors, including local communities, to combat global issues. The conference will incorporate a variety of perspectives including those from industry, local and Indigenous communities, youth, academia, and government. The collaborative efforts and voices of all contributors will provide for a better understanding of protecting the ocean.

The Sustainable Ocean Conference 2021 will include keynote speakers, a panel discussion, student oral and poster presentations, and a photo contest. The conference will be held virtually.

The annual conference is organized by the students of the Marine Affairs Program at Dalhousie University and funded by the Sobeys Fund for Oceans.
