Elisabeth Mann Borgese Ocean Lecture - Ocean Week Canada

Updated: May 12, 2022

The Elisabeth Mann Borgese Ocean Lecture Series, held annually in honour of the founder of the International Ocean Institute (IOI), aims to encourage the debate on oceans issues by inviting internationally renowned speakers to discuss important and timely ocean-related topics.

After a hiatus due to covid, IOI plans to relaunch the lecture series for a special in-person lecture on 19th May at 7pm as part of the IOI's 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The lecture will feature RASHID SUMAILA on Canada’s Oceans and Coasts: Pathways to Sustainability in a Sea of Change. The evening will also feature an introductory online presentation by TIRZA MEYER drawing on her just-published book, Elisabeth Mann Borgese and the Law of the Sea
