CIOOS has developed a new tool for discovering and downloading data, the Data Explorer.
Data Explorer is a map-based interactive tool that allows the user to search geographically for data, across supported datasets within the CIOOS catalogue.
By default, the Data Explorer displays all available datasets. Filtering by essential ocean variable, organization, and time aggregates data that meets specific criteria. Select data by creating a polygon, or simply click on the individual data point. After making a selection, a summary of the selected dataset(s) will appear which provides more detail and a download link. Data Explorer downloads are in a standardized (.csv) format.
In the Atlantic Region, Data Explorer provides access to a variety of datasets: from real-time to historical, non-profit to government, temperature to salinity, and many more!
