8th Annual Bras d'Or Watch

Updated: Aug 30, 2022

Bras d’Or Watch is an initiative which introduces people to the unique Bras d’Or ecosystem, in Cape Breton. As an iNaturalist Project it tracks species that call the Bras D'Or Lakes (Mi'kmaq: Pitu'paq) home - including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, fungi, and plants. The iNaturalist project is for all ages and took place from July 22 to August 8, 2022. See the iNaturalist results for the event can be seen here.

The Bras d'Or Watch Field Day is an annual event that brings together scientists, naturalists, families, and community leaders to celebrate our place in the Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere Reserve. Members of the public were invited to attend the 8th annual field day on July 23rd, 2022 from 11am to 3pm to learn more about the natural environment and help collect valuable information about the lakes. The Bras d'Or Watch Facebook page has updates on the event.
